Default choices not working in WinPE

I have a UI++ XML I used for some time now with 2.11.1.2 and lately I used it with the latest  v3.0.3.0 X64 executable
For some unknown reason running it with the SCCM Task Sequence in WinPE it does not honour the Default choice registered in an ChoiceInput  tag. I does work as expected in a full win10 21H2 though.

Is this a known bug?
