I would like to create a check condition that determines if a particular file exists. Normally, this would be a short VBScript script . . . is there an example of how I would include vbscript in the check condition?

Amazingly, VBScript is more Powerful than most folks think, even me :-) I'd never tried before, but the following works perfectly:
<Action Type="TSVar" Name="FTWFileExists" Condition='CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject").FileExists("C:\Users\Jason\Desktop\ConfigMgrFTW.dox")'>"True"</Action>
