Hi all,
Big fan of UI++ - have only used it for quite basic stuff in the past.... i try to automate everything as much as possible from the back end - but some clients business processes dont fit that.
Anyway, what im trying to do is fairly simple-ish (i think) - i just have a question around multiple actions within the one screen.
My outline is:
Retrieve details such as AssetTag (for Dell), Serial number (for HP and Lenovo) and chassis type (currently using MDT's ISLaptop, ISDesktop, ISVM)
Display those details - then branch out
If its a VM - action type is input - validate inputted computerName and continue on
If its a Dell Laptop - Use "LAP" + assetTag
If its a HP/Lenovo Laptop - use "LAP" + Serial number (and verify no longer than 15 characters)
If its a desktop - present a dropdown list of sites for the tech to choose (all machines built centrally)
If Dell - use Site code + Asset Tag
If HP - use Site Code + Serial number
If OSDComputerName still not valid - prompt
Present a summary screen showing the Computer name + OU where it will live (different OU based on site.... i dont agree with it - but its what the customer wants)
I believe i have most of this correct (i need to get some of the other models for testing) - but currently i have it in multiple steps. i.e. the first screen displays the info, click the green tick - and it moves onto the next depending on the conditions.
Is it possible to have this all in "one screen" ? So display the information (asset tag, serial number, chassis etc) in say the top half of the GUI and then have the appropriate action (based on condition) show in the "bottom half" of the screen ? And have the computername and OU display update dynamically as values are changed ?
Sorry if this is a stupid question - im just not sure if im missing something
