Hi, I'm just looking to use UI++ for authenticating to AD before allowing the user to continue the rest of the task sequence.
On page 12 of the documentation there's a authentication box without the cancel button. I tried:
<Action Type="UserAuth" Title="User Authentication" Domain="myDomain" ShowCancel="False" ShowBack="False" GetGroups="False" MaxRetryCount="5" />
But alas, the cancel button is still available.
Also able to edit the domain still with this line under my Action tag:
<Field Name="Domain" ReadOnly="True" />
Here's my whole XML file:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<UIpp Title="myCompany" Icon="UI++2.ico">
<Actions>
<Action Type="DefaultValues" />
<!--User Authentication-->
<Action Type="UserAuth" Title="User Authentication" Domain="myDomain" ShowCancel="False" ShowBack="False" GetGroups="False" MaxRetryCount="5" />
<Field Name="Domain" ReadOnly="True" /> </Actions>
</UIpp>
Thanks for any suggestions.

The ShowCancel attribute needs to True for the cancel button to be shown.
For the domain field to be read-only read only, the Field element needs to be a child element of the Action element.
<Action Type="UserAuth" Title="User Authentication" Domain="myDomain" ShowCancel="True" ShowBack="False" GetGroups="False" MaxRetryCount="5" > <Field Name="Domain" ReadOnly="True" /> </Action>

Wow, that is embarrassing! Thanks so much for responding... I need to get my eyes (and head) checked. Duh!

Oh, a little less embarrassing :-) I actually DON'T want the cancel button to show up, but it still does, even with ShowCancel="False". The read only field worked like a charm though. Thanks!

OK, so should have looked a little closer. You can't disable the Cancel button for the authentication action and thus the ShowCancel attribute is meaningless.
Why would you want to hide it though? If the user doesn't have the correct credentials, they need someway to exit.

I use your wonderful UI++ for Authentication purpose only. WinPE is use for Tools/Utilities purpose for our techs. If the cancel button can disabled, I wouldn't need to check for error 1223 to wpeutil reboot in a script. Thanks

Username filed accepts only 15 characters. Is there way to make it accept more than that?
