hi all,
Launching outside of task sequence as a scheduled task for all users on logon config. file located in c:\programData\motd\config\test-config.xml
Upon logon launches OK for 1 user but crashes for all others(local admins and std users) The config file location, ui++.exe have read and execute permissions for everyone
Event log shows application error: 3221226505 Windows error reporting error dialog pops up advising to close or debug program UI++.log in %userProfile%\temp for working and non-working users attached.

Can you copy your configuration file here?
Does this happen when multiple users simultaneously log onto the system?

Very small and basic Config. file:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <UIpp Title="Safety Message" Icon="./img/post.ico" Color="#1a1a1a"> <Actions> <Action Type="FileRead" DeleteLine="True" Variable="motd" Filename="./config/motd-messages-tst.txt"> </Action> <Action Type="Info" Name="motdBanner" Title="Today's Message" Image="./img/motd-main2.jpg" Timeout="30" TimeoutAction="Continue"> <![CDATA[%motd%]]> </Action> </Actions> </UIpp>
Does this happen when multiple users simultaneously log onto the system? - No! Happens when a single user logs on, I can reproduce the error after sign-out and full system restart.

Can you define what you mean by "launches OK for 1 user"?
Does that mean it works fine only for the first user to log in after a system restart?
That it works fine only for the first user to log in after a given period of time?
That it works fine for only one specific user?
Something else?

Ok, here's what I mean: system: Lenovo notebook joined to an AD domain, running win8.1 works OK for MyDomain\userA and gives error for MyDomain\userB ; MyDomain\userC ; MyDomain\userD etc etc. All users I'm testing against are published at the same location in AD OUs, are members of same AD groups and are applying same user GPOs on the system.

OK, so its not about subsequent logins on the same system but specific to one user account?
Does this happen on other systems as well? Is it specific to that same user on that system?

Can replicate on other systems too. Users get the attached error upon system logon(UI++ is set to run as a scheduled task upon logon of any user) Attachments:

Figured out, it was a permissions issue on a .txt file UI++ was configured to read.
