I'm hoping for some help using UI++.
I have UI++ working great in my Refresh Task Sequence, and it starts up in WinPE - so far so good, everything seems to be working as it should.
I have another xml file for UI++ dedicated for Upgrade Task Sequences. These ones always start from Software Center rather than PXE and WinPE. This one works when I call it manually from CMD, but it is not working when I add it as a step in my Task Sequence. I'm using the same cmd line: UI++64.exe /config:Upgrade1803.xml. It also does not work as its own standalone package/program.
I watch the Task Sequence download the package details for UI++ and then it goes to run the action but nothing ever happens. Eventually the Task Sequence will timeout and fail but, technically, UI++ is never failing its just that the Task Sequence times out. If I remove the UI++ step in the Task Sequence, the Task Sequence runs just fine and completes properly.
The UI++ log states that it goes through the Default Values, retrieves the proper information except there are fails for two different properties -
- Could not retrieve value for WMI property DisplayName in class Win32_Service: Not found
- Could not retrieve value for WMI property AuthorityName in class MDM_MgmtAuthority: Generic failure
After that it goes to retrieve more information, all looks fine.
It then keeps moving...
Found <RegRead> Action: UI++ 5/31/2018 1:35:05 PM 6436 (0x1924)
Initiating <RegRead> Action: UI++ 5/31/2018 1:35:05 PM 6436 (0x1924)
* Loaded registry value from HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\CurrentVersion : 6.3 UI++ 5/31/2018 1:35:05 PM 6436 (0x1924)
+ Set the task sequence variable 'CurrentVersion' to the value '6.3' UI++ 5/31/2018 1:35:05 PM 6436 (0x1924)
Found <Info> Action: myInfo UI++ 5/31/2018 1:35:05 PM 6436 (0x1924)
Initiating <Info> Action: myInfo UI++ 5/31/2018 1:35:05 PM 6436 (0x1924)
At this point, it just stops. Nothing else happens after Initiating.
I check Task Manager and UI++ is running as a background process but never pops up for user interaction.
Is there something I'm missing? I read through the user guide quite a bit trying to find my answer there.
Thank you in advance.
